The background…
This necklace features a beautiful pendant that I created from a Mother-of-Pearl handle that I recently acquired at an antique shop in the UK. I believe that it probably came from part of a manicure or dressing table set. I’ve suspended the finished pendant from a vintage French scrolled connector. I made the chain from beautiful twisted glass beads in caramel tones repurposed from a mid-century triple-stranded necklace, combined with a textured Sarah Coventry rope chain. Finished with a vintage spring clasp, this versatile piece can be worn as a sautoir or as a double-stranded choker.
An organic gemstone, Mother of Pearl is said to bring the gentle healing power of the sea to relieve stress; soothe and calm the emotions.
