The background...
This elegant necklace features a hand carved shell cameo; I suspect it was made for the tourist market in Italy during the mid-century. I have framed it on a vintage plastic buckle and paired with beautiful champagne-coloured glass pearls sourced many years ago from a vintage warehouse in the USA. I have designed this necklace with an inbuilt extender chain allowing it to be worn at varying lengths.
